Oak is used as part of the common name to describe several hundred plants and shrubs. However our native oak has a character and majesty incomparable with that of its north American or Continental cousins.
The term oak has to some extent become misused in popular culture. An oak kitchen, table or floor often describes a plastic or laminate imitation.
A well made, solid oak table will mature like a fine wine or whisky and take on new character with age.
We have a heritage of great natural resources and we believe we should use them in an appropriate and fitting way.
We use only FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified Welsh Oak harvested from sustainably managed woodlands. With every new piece of newReD furniture we issue a certificate of authenticity stating its origins.
