The oak has been at the heart of civilisation for millennia. It is fair to say, the oak shaped the pre-industrial modern world before heavy industry changed the way we live our lives.
Particularly true of South Wales, this led to a disappearance of the local craft workshops, which have never been revived.
Our aim at newReD is to attempt to redress this balance in our own small way. We employ local resources, traditional skills and techniques to produce furniture of a superior quality and finish.
Our designs are well considered and functional and exhibit the full beauty of the material from which they are made. They are designed to compliment and enhance their environment.
By concentrating on what we’re good at, we aim to make commissioning a piece of newReD furniture an accessible and attractive alternative.
